"We build deep and loving family relationships by doing simple things together, like family dinner and family home evening and by just having fun together. In family relationships love is really spelled t-i-m-e, time. Taking time for each other is the key for harmony at home. We talk with, rather than about, each other. We learn from each other, and we appreciate our differences as well as our commonalities. We establish a divine bond with each other as we approach God together through family prayer, gospel study, and Sunday worship.”

catching up
We got a little behind on our monthly updates of Aubree so it is time to play catch up. Here we go:
Alright, now we are up to date. Our little girl is already 9 months old. She has been out as long as she was in me! That is soooo crazy. At the end of her doctor appointment the doctor said, "alright-we will see you at her one year appointment." It shocked me to hear that! She is growing up soooo fast! We are sure loving every second of our time with her. She is so much fun. Eric loves that she plays back with him now. He is such a good dad...and Aubree is such a good little girl. How did i get so lucky :)
One of her favorite things to do now is open her mouth as big as she can and then give you a HUGE smile. (as you can see above)
Happy 9 months little girl. We sure do love you lots!

aubree's first christmas
We were so excited to be able to visit our families over the christmas break. It was so fun to see everyone again! We had so much fun and were spoiled beyond belief :) Thank you to our wonderful parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and all our friends. We had a WONDERFUL trip! Pictures are always better than words...here ya go:
So excited to use this backpack this summer!
And of course she LOVED the paper more than anything!
This last picture is from today. We are finally getting some snow instead of rain! We bundled little aubree up and took her outside. She wasn't so sure of that snowsuit but it was fun to play in the snow with her for a little while!

first halloween
Aubree's first halloween consisted of:
Pumpkin carving with her dad
and LOTS of pictures.
This was the picture we took last year announcing that our little "pumpkin" was coming and here she is 5 1/2 months old!
She wasn't having as much fun as I was
This was her, "ok mom...i'm done. Can i please get out of this pumpkin?"
We had a fun night. We kept the trunk or treat sweet and short because Aubree was too young to enjoy it and it was super cold! We enjoyed the rest of the night with hot chocolate in front of our fire place! Hope you all had a great Halloween!

kenai-alaska
A couple weeks ago Eric had a work trip in Kenai, Alaska which is about 2 1/2 hours south of Anchorage. Aubree and I decided to go spend the week with him in Kenai. Unfortunately it rained....a lot! But, we were able to catch a few hours of sunlight and we spent those hours out exploring.
I am pretty sure Kenai is a pretty big fishing place. We came across tons of old fishing boats. I thought it was pretty crazy to have a "junk yard" of old fishing boats rather than a junk yard of old cars.
I think Eric mentioned it was fall in a previous post. Well, fall has come and gone. Yes i can look out my window and see snow on the ground! We were able to catch a couple pictures of the last few leaves out. (Since this was two weeks ago i am pretty sure the leaves and the green grass is long gone).
We stopped at a little board walk type place and took some pictures of this marshy area. It really is a beautiful place!
As we were driving down the tiny little "main street" I saw a sign that said Beach Access and then an arrow pointing to the ocean. I had NO idea that there was a beach in Kenai. I got SOOOO excited. We followed the beach access signs, got out of the car and saw this beautiful view...
A little closer view...
and now we are walking on the beach :)
Agates!!!! My grandma and grandpa child would appreciate this picture
(making sure my rock is an agate)
One last view of the beautiful ocean before heading back.
And of course...these two had to be included on the post. (I love them both SOO much)
I just had to document this. I have never seen a caribou crossing sign before. You can find them in Kenai Alaska! (unfortunately we did not see one...maybe next time)
